How Does Mindfulness Training Work?
The Mindfulness teacher leads a group of people in a 8-week standardized Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program, aiming to help the participant to gradually acquire Mindful awareness, that is manifested in the form of more presence to one’s life, and as a way of living less in ‘the head’, more grounded in the body and more in tune with one’s emotional state.
The MBSR program consists of 2 ½ hours group workshops each week (for 8 consecutive weeks) Plus a 1-day retreat and it requires the practice of a 45-minute daily homework.
Participants in MBSR training learn three formal techniques:
Simple Yoga Movements
* A form of meditation based on systematically focusing one’s attention on various regions of the body
