How Does Mindful Alexander Work?
Mindful Alexander teaches you how to become aware of your habits and offers you the possibility to look at your experience with new eyes and to ‘see’ your posture. Not just your physical posture but also your mental and emotional postures.
In other terms, your posture towards yourself, others and life in general, because all these postures are various reflections of you. The Alexander Technique applies to all areas of life and it is, to a large extent, a hands-on experience where the teacher:
- Helps the student become aware of his or her physical, mental or emotional habits
- Guides them into releasing muscular tension
- Provides verbal instructions to help students develop ease of movement
- Demonstrates and uses hands-on to guide the student into an improved body posture, one that is free of pain.
